THE HELP by Goulven and Nolan

I) SYNOPSIS:
At the start, the Help is a book which was writing by Kathryn Sockett who inspired the filmmaker and scriptwriter Tate Taylor.
In the 60's, the white population of united states was extremely racist, the Klux Klux Klan (KKK) 's influence was growing, they were so extremist that they had assassinated a lot of black people.
The film takes place in the United States, in the Mississippi where black maids were extremely inferior to her bosses.
Skeeter (play by Emma Stone) is a writer who wants to change the things because of the situation. She decides to write a book and become a writer. For that, she try to convince some maids to help her for her book which talk about the maid's working conditions from real testimonies. The problem is that the black people don't want to talk for not have any disagreement.
II) CRITICAL:
The synopsis is a bit difficult to understand because there are many characters.
There are so many things that we've to understand in the same time. There is no suspense, that can make the film a bit boring. It's too bad
The end is very predictable. However, the film is still interesting because of the context, the message that it relay to the public

III) OUR CHOICE OF SCENE:
The scene that we have chosen is when Skeeter talks with her mum, and learns that Constantine has been fired by her own mother. She learns too that she died no longer after she came back to Boston. In the film, we can see that Sketeer's mom is touch by the cancer. Skeeter is crying because of what she learned.
After, we see the scene where Constantine has been fired and we understand that it is not Sketeer’s mother fault but the influence that other white people have on her
This is for us the most important scene because it gives to us the response why Skeeter wants to help the black people
