Synopsis
The help is a movie made in 2011. It was adapted from Kathrin Stockett's novel with the same name and it was directed and written by Tate Tailor.
    Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan is a white southern woman who comes back in her city; Jackson in the South Missisipi in South America after several years in a university during the 60's. In this city, the maids are all black women which work for the white families. Skeeter wants to write a book from the point of vue of the maids. Then she asks her friends’ maid, called Aibileen, to tell her stories from her job. She hesitates a long time before accepting because it's dangerous and forbidden. But no other maids accept except one, called Minny. After the murder of a black man in their city, a lot of maids decide to help Skeeter and tell her stories. Then J.F.K. is assassinated, therefore Minny got scared and tell Skeeter the horrible thing she had made to Hilly Holbrook. With this event in the book, she was certain that Hilly would make sure that the book wouldn't be recognized. When the book is published, Hilly recognize the story and try to prevent the others to recognize it. But she make Aibileen got fired.
Movie review                                                                                                 
The movie cast was not really well known when the movie came out, it includes Jessica Chastain (Celia Foote), Viola Davis (Aibileen Clark), Bryce Dallas Howard (Hilly Holbrook), Allison Janney (Charlotte Phelan), Octavia Spencer (Minny Jackson) and Emma Stone (Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan). It was a big movie for Emma Stone because this movie affirmed her talent and her future success as an actress that lead her to get an Oscar that she won with Lalaland in 2016. The staging was really nicely done. The movie reflects quite well the reality of the time (in the 60's). Some of the characters are really caricatural of the people in the 60's like Hilly Holbrook which caricaturates the racists white people on the South USA or Minny Jackson which caricaturates blacks people in the 60's at the beginning of the movie but we discover her during the movie and we can know that her caricatural nature is justified because of what she lived

The scene when Yule may is arrested is really shocking because the policemen arrest without any explanation. The reason is that Yule May asked Hilly to lend her money but she refused. Therefore Yule May steals a ring in Hilly's house in order to make her two boys go in college. They force her to go to their car and then they hit her with a stick. It is an important scene because after this event, a lot of maids accept to tell their stories to Skeeter.

Storyline In the early 60’s, a young white lady from Jackson, Mississippi, named Skeeter wants to denounce the inequalities between the whites and the blacks. In order to reach her goal, she decides to write a book based on black maids’ testimonies. All along the film she gathers their stories through which the difficulties to live in a world full of racism are exposed. Firstly she asks her friends’ maids to be a part of her project.
