The Help by Thomas and Luca

synopsis: 
This movie was directed and written by Tate Talor in 2011. The Kathryn Stockett's 2009 novel with the same name has inspired this american drama."The Help" talks about racial segregation in the United States’s society, in the 60's and more precisely in Mississipi (because this region is considerate the toughest state in United states for black population: The society was very racist and unlivable). The story is centred arournd Aibileen, a black servant who must to raise the white family's chidrens. Minny too, another maid and Eugenia Skeeter, a young white journalist who wants to write a book for denounce black people's discrimination. She wants to become a true writter too and for this, she writes a book for the newspaper, in Jackson, capital of Mississipi, for protect these two thougths. At the beginning of the story, Sketter wants to convince Aibleen to accept to testify and tell her story to show racial segregation. Firstly, she refuses because she doesn't want to get more problems. But after many tragic events (Minny's dismissal, the story of Aibileen’s son's death and Yule Mae Davis' s arrest), she, and the other maids decide to tell their personal stories and to give their view about racism. Once the publication of Sketter’s book, many people change their opinion about black people and black people segregation.

Movie review: 
This movie tells a story really touching and reflects the reality in the 60's in the south of the USA. The Help allow to show reality of the time: the racial segregation (in this movie against blacks peoples). This film allow to present a caricature of typical American women through Celia Foote: A typical blond woman, stupid and who cannot do anything.The film tell us a story who was very common in the 60s. Personally we really enjoyed this film because it shows the bad side of the United States and doesn't show this state as a paradise where everything is perfect ... as many people think. These blacks of the time were still treated as less than nothing, now racism is still present but against all those who don't follow the fashion and American-style codes of life. Today, black people or strangers also experience isolation and total indifference. What we enjoy in this film is that it isn't a fiction, the story depends on one of the realities of the time that lasted in the 60s and 70s.

Description of one scene :

Yule Mae Davis need money because she wanted to buy the college for her sons, she worked for Hilly Holbrook like a maid. Sadly she commits a mistake when she had stolen the money at miss hilly Holbrook. She was arrested by the police in front of her friends and camrades. From this moment all blacks maid want to testimony her stories at Skeeter to write the book. The book make sensation nearby the american population.
