Synopsis         The Help is a movie which takes place in Mississippi during 60’s. It tells the story of Skeeter, a young white woman, who wants to become a writer. She started a journalist job. Her goal is to write and publish a book that will be approved by Elaine Stein, the boss. She wants to write about the living conditions of black housemaids. Skeeter is a girl who has curly red hair; she is quite tall, she haves some freckles in her face. She is altruistic, brave, faithful, dedicated, honest and a heroic woman. For that she interview Aibileen, a housemaid who worked in white and rich family and Skeeter question her about her life. She is 53 years old and has cared for many children during her life. She is daughter and grand-daughter of servant's family. Over time she learns to affirm herself and finds the courage to challenge the social conventions of her century. The synopsis : The Help is a novel which was writed by Kathryn Stocket and adapted in a drama movie by Tate Taylor, presented to Americans in 2011. Principal ac tors are Emma Stone, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer. This story takes place in Jacskon, a little city of Mississippi, during the 60’s: the area of civil rights. At this time, there was a racial segregation between Black and White people: the Blacks were juged lower and in White people’s orders. Emma Stone, in Skeeter’s place, is determined to be a writer. So shocks by what happened in her society, she decides to write a book about this racial segregation, in the point of view of Blacks. Storyline In the early 60’s, a young white lady from Jackson, Mississippi, named Skeeter wants to denounce the inequalities between the whites and the blacks. In order to reach her goal, she decides to write a book based on black maids’ testimonies. All along the film she gathers their stories through which the difficulties to live in a world full of racism are exposed. Firstly she asks her friends’ maids to be a part of her project. One of those maids, Aibileen, managed to convince other black women to tell the horror their bosses inflict them. In the 60's, the white population of united states was extremely racist, the Klux Klux Klan (KKK) 's influence was growing, they were so extremist that they had assassinated a lot of black people. The film takes place in the United States, in the Mississippi where black maids were extremely inferior to her bosses.
